With ‘Shut In,’ Kerosene channels frustration into a mechanical frenzy, each track a blistering portrait of emotional numbness and sonic abrasion. - Pitchfork
Where others seek catharsis, Kerosene finds comfort in alienation. The beats are cold, the riffs are jagged, and the silence between them is deafening. - Bandcamp Daily
Kerosene doesn’t just take influence from Big Black and Suicide; it re calibrates their industrial aggression and emotional detachment into a language all its own. - DIY Noise
Kerosene’s music is a reflection of modern alienation, unapologetically bleak and utterly captivating. - Loud and Quiet
From the forgotten corners of Connecticut comes a wave of sound that’s anything but nostalgic. Kerosene taps into the darkest roots of industrial noise and punk’s cold minimalism, but their music isn’t a homage to the past—it’s a harsh, mechanical cry from the present. In a state often overlooked by the broader music industry, Kerosene is proof that Connecticut is a breeding ground for the kind of unrelenting, socially distant sound that rejects comfort and embraces alienation. This isn’t music made to connect; it’s music made to disconnect, to challenge, and to capture the feeling of living in a world that’s increasingly difficult to make sense of. - New Haven Independent

Bio
Kerosene is a one-man minimal noise rock project from Connecticut, created by multi-instrumentalist Evan Solis in 2024. Combining harsh drum machine rhythms, distorted guitars, and bass lines, Kerosene delivers a raw, abrasive sound heavily influenced by Big Black and Suicide.
Kerosene will release its 4-track EP, "Shut In," in 2025. The EP explores themes of isolation, alienation, and emotional detachment, using mechanical rhythms and dissonant textures to evoke the cold, empty feeling of being cut off from the world. In support of the release, Kerosene will be performing select live shows, delivering its intense, high-energy experience to fans.
Launched in the summer of 2024, Kerosene emerged from Evan Solis's desire to create music that’s stripped to its essentials—just drum machines, guitar, and bass. Drawing from the minimalist industrial aggression of Big Black and the stark, repetitive style of Suicide, Kerosene rejects overproduction in favor of raw, unrelenting sound. Solis's frustration with conventional music drove him to craft something that embraces the chaos and alienation of modern life.
"Shut In" perfectly encapsulates this approach, using abrasive guitar and cold drum machine beats to explore the feelings of emotional disconnect and the monotony of isolation. Solis explains, "Kerosene is about capturing the noise and chaos of being alone—the static of a world that feels out of reach."
With "Shut In," Kerosene is ready to make its mark in the industrial and noise rock scenes. This EP is just the beginning, with more releases and live shows in the pipeline.
