Overview
Your EPK is synced to all gig applications. This allows you to apply faster and for promoters per opportunity/event to review your gig submission with the specific gig or booking requirements met.
Understand The Promoter’s Perspective
Booking agents/promoters can see within 30-90 seconds after reviewing your EPK to decide they want to contact you. The traditional method of receiving applications was through thousands of demos sent to general email inboxes to random labels or venues on a daily basis. On Sonicbids, bookers get quick tools to help simplify their workflow and help them discover new talent without anything being pushed under the rug.
The main consideration you'll want to showcase upfront is your music through audio, live performances or music videos, first and foremost. Promoters listen to a TON of music every day and will generally have a good feel for your songs after hearing the first hook for example. Make it a priority to include your best material at the very top and/or your most up-to-date music on your EPK's media section if you want to be considered as a talent not to be missed.
(Don't know how to rank your songs? Turn to your fan feedback, purchase history or production quality to help you decide.)
If they take a liking to your audio/music tracks, your videos will come next in their radar. An example of a bad video is from either poor audio quality, lighting, a shaky hand or your band member's head in the way of the camera. You get the picture. Be diligent when choosing videos you want to share to your next gig. It is strongly recommended to back up your recordings with a great live performance and/or studio session of you practicing so they can get a sense of how you are on stage.
Promoters can hear quality music using their own internal rating system to help with fairness, weighing each element of your EPK respectively, and letting those critiques guide them to make a decision to book you. If you want to check out the full booking process broken down, please click here.
