Cassowary is a San Francisco based underground noise rock band that formed in 2010 after the demise of Top Critters & Tender Frame. The quartet aims to create rhythmically and sonically powerful post-punk. Steve McManus (lead guitar & vocals) writes lyrical anthems for the memory of pre-tech era San Francisco. Along with McManus - Andy Pitman (bass, vocals), Danny Murphy (guitar & vocals), and Jackson Burks (drums) build songs about bars that have closed, neighborhoods that have gentrified, parties that have been crashed. Rarely performing live, Cassowary strives to deliver a solid set without overstaying their welcome.
